Amidst a flurry of wranglers, chaps and spurs, the Ponoka Stampede grounds comes alive for 7 days straight with bucking bulls and barrel-racing horses in a posse of action-packed performances. More than 600 contestants vie for prize money in the excess of ($325,000) Daily afternoon performances consist of rough stock (bareback, saddle bronc and bull riding) and timed events (steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping and barrel racing) Ponoka Stampede also features amateur bareback riding, saddle bronc and boys steer riding. Don’t miss the Stampede Showdown where the Top 4 cowboys/cowgirls from each event advance from the Finals to compete for a $15,000 BONUS
