Jed Moore School: Part One

By Charlie Coon, Wrangler Network contributor

He grew up with the big Cheyenne Frontier Days arena as a backyard and rode bulls there many times during a thirteen-year pro career. It’s what Jed Moore has accomplished since that is really impressive. He is a highly respected rodeo coach at Colorado Northwestern Community College and leads schools for younger riders each year. Moore’s “Champions Choice Rough Stock School” was held over three days last weekend in the teaching arena of Jed’s alma mater at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.

More than 50 signed on for classroom instruction in life skills and many other facets to help with a rodeo career. But of course what they really wanted to do was get on and ride.

Our report has two parts and in the second we will meet one of the young bull riding cowboys who is actually a girl, and a darn tough one too – from of all places, Vermont. Today let’s watch the boys show their grit.
