Melancon is College Champion

Half of the field was out and down early before Texas bull rider Cole Melancon got his shot at the College National Finals Rodeo last weekend but Melancon proved more than up to the task at hand keeping his seat for 85 points – the highest rough-stock score of the entire weeklong event that concluded Saturday night in Casper, WY.

Cole is the new college national bull riding champion and is doing well on the pro circuit currently sitting 12th in the WEATHER GUARD PRCA World Standings. He won the college title wearing the vest of Hill College in Hillsboro, TX and spoke with us after the victory:
