Melvin Manhandles Greeley

Courtesy of Wrangler Network contributor Charlie Coon

With a couple of new mouths to feed (boy Chase and girl Raney) in the Melvin household a check for more than $8,500 from the Greeley Stampede will come in handy. Nebraska steer wrestler Dru Melvin was on his game Monday evening to turn one down in 3.6 seconds winning the championship round of one of America’s biggest Fourth of July rodeos. The Melvin twins will no doubt grow to know the importance of being there for one another which is one of the top tenets of bulldogging.

Melvin hazed for four of a dozen men who made the Greeley finals including Montanan Ty Erickson who was in the hunt for another Stampede buckle and ended up a half-second back overall to finish second.
