Standings Shuffle: 13 Move Up in Top 15

In what could be described as the calm before the storm that is Cowboy Christmas, 13 cowboys saw their position improve within the Top 15 during the third week of June.

Although there wasn’t a lot of movement this week, there was plenty of prize money up for grabs as 20 PRCA competitions were worth a collective $670,208.

Veteran and rookie cowboys know it’s easier to maintain a position at the top than it is to play catch-up when trying to qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Every dollar counts, and making the Top 15 in the PRCA | RAM World Standings early establishes a solid base and builds a cowboy’s confidence as the season picks up pace.

Nobody knows this better than steer wrestler Matt Reeves (pictured above) who moved from 10th to seventh thanks to winning $3,610 at the Buffalo Bill Rodeo in North Platte, Neb., June 16.

The following cowboys saw their position in the world standings improve from June 11-17.

Two Spots

Curtis Cassidy moved from fourth to second in steer wrestling.
Vin Fisher Jr. moved from 10th to eighth in steer roping.
Jordan Ketscher moved from 12th to 10th in tie-down roping.
Eli Vastbinder moved from 15th to 13th in bull riding.
Cody Quaney moved from 16th to 14th in tie-down roping.
Austin Foss moved from 17th to 15th in bareback riding.

One Spot

Tyler Bingham moved from ninth to eighth in bull riding.
Steven Dent moved from 12th to 11th in bareback riding.
Nelson Wyatt moved from 12th to 11th in team roping heading.
Ty Breuer moved from 13th to 12th in bareback riding.
Scott Guenthner moved from 16th to 15th in steer wrestling.
Brady Portenier moved from 16th to 15th in bull riding.

With the Reno (Nev.) Rodeo underway and Rodeo de Santa Fe (N.M.) on June 20-23, the outcomes of these rodeos and others are sure to impact the world standings.
