The co-champion of the Elizabeth Stampede Xtreme Bulls event last year is the outright winner in 2016. Ty Wallace took top honors in the picturesque setting to open the weekend. Wallace has qualified for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo each of the last two years since leaving Odessa College in Texas. He lives in Collbran, CO about five hours from Elizabeth which is considered close to home in the PRCA rodeo cowboy and cowgirl world.
The Elizabeth Stampede (June 3-5) is one of the most decorated small rodeos in the country. Their clearly popular Xtreme Bulls event drew 50 of the top pro riders including reigning champ Sage Steele Kimzey.
Wallace was matched with a Summit Pro Rodeo Co. bull owned by Jesse Hill. ‘All She Wrote’ spun a nice taut yarn and Ty stayed strong for 86.5 points and a $4,200 victory in front of a packed outdoor arena in the wooded hillsides southeast of Denver.
