Alexandria Tapia, Miss New Rodeo New Mexico

ALEXANDRIA TAPIA
MISS RODEO NEW MEXICO
LAND OF ENCHANTMENT

Alexandria Tapia (New Mexico)

Alexandria Tapia is from Santa Fe, New Mexico and is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Government and Bachelors of Arts in History. She would like to become a lobbyist to advocate for agriculture and western values in her state and hopes to serve her community in the New Mexico State Senate.

Alexandria’s favorite hobby is also her favorite sport: rodeo. She has been riding horses the majority of her life and enjoys trail riding, barrel racing and competing in rodeo queen pageants. She also enjoys spending time with her family outdoors and hunting New Mexico big game, crafting, cooking and catching up on the most recent popular novels. She has had the opportunity to attend many schools, children’s hospitals and nursing homes to share the sport of rodeo and has really enjoyed participating in exceptional rodeos and helping to share the thrill of rodeo with special needs children.

“I did not come from a rodeo lifestyle, but I chose to make it the center of mine. My love for rodeo and the western lifestyle grows deeper every day. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association continues to bring rodeo into mainstream American culture, striving to brand it as more than a sport, but an example of hard work, family, animal welfare and partnership, determination and grit. Through community outreach and charitable endeavors championed by our sport’s generous sponsors and athletes, the sport of rodeo has impacted the lives of millions throughout the nation. I know that my involvement in rodeo has enriched my life and I hope all those I have encountered along my journey. The opportunity to represent this industry as Miss Rodeo America would provide me with the platform to promote, protect and preserve our western heritage at the national level as an advocate, a historian and a cowgirl.”
