She is involved with the All American Beef Battalion which travels the country cooking and serving steak dinners to troops and their families. Katera enjoys baking, long distance running, deer and raccoon hunting, fishing, raising feeder cattle and rodeoing.

“Becoming Miss Rodeo America would offer a limitless opportunity to be of service to the sport of rodeo that I love. Being the first lady of Professional Rodeo would allow me to share my passion of the western way of life that I hold so dear to my heart. I want to become Miss Rodeo America to spread the traditions of our lifestyle while representing my state, the Agriculture Industry, and rodeo’s generous sponsors with grace and dignity. Miss Rodeo America symbolizes and represents the very high moral values that I have chosen to embody in my own life, and as Miss Rodeo America I would continue the legacy of professionalism laid out by the women before me.”
