Reno Rodeo Night Seven Results

RENO, Nev., – The seventh night of the 98th Reno Rodeo saw a slew of world champs, arena favorites and local athletes.

Ranked #4 in world standings, Jake Brown of Cleveland, TX took bareback tonight with an 83.5 on Flying 5 Rodeo’s Black Mary.

Hilo, HI’s Cody Cabral, who placed in four rounds of the Wrangler NFR to rank seventh in the average, took steer wrestling with a 4.9.

Only one team scored in team roping – Garrett Tonozzi of Fruita, CO and Wyatt Cox of Arroyo Grande, CA with a 6.4.

There were high hopes for twenty-three-time world champion Trevor Brazile who no-scored in tie-down roping. Instead, Tuf Cooper of Weatherford, TX took the win with a 9.3.

Kelly Tovar of Rockdale, TX started running barrels when she was four. Tonight she took the win with a 17.27 second run.

No stranger to wins in Reno, Heith DeMoss of Heflin, LA is in a good position for a three-peat after taking an 87.5 tonight on a re-ride. He took the Reno Rodeo saddle bronc championship title in 2015 and 2016.

And ending the night with bull riding it was only Layne Steven Ward of Almo, ID to score. He got an 82 on Rosser Rodeo’s Kaui. Though he didn’t score, hometown boy Will Morris still received plenty of cheers from the sold-out crowd in Reno.
