Reno Rodeo Day Six Results

RENO, Nev. – The grandstands were silver and blue at the Reno Rodeo for Nevada Wolf Pack Night as the sold out crowd cheered on several local competitors.

Minden, Nev. local, Wyatt Denny, won tonight’s bareback with an 85. The high score was not enough to get him on to the leaderboard for finals night. Other Nevadans competing tonight included Joe Harper of Paradise Valley, Lindsey Reed and Fallon, Lita Scott of Carson City, Leslie Schur of Las Vegas and Will Morris of Reno.

Tyson Durfey was the fastest in tie-down roping with a 8.3 beating out six-time world champion Marty Yates and guaranteeing a spot on the leaderboard. Durfey is known for wearing pink every time he competes, a tradition he started in 2007 after his stepmother experienced a cancer scare.

Cassidy Kruse and horse Six Pack won barrel racing with a 17.24 putting the Gillette, Wyo. native in fourth overall. Lucas Manning of Myakka City, Fla., rode the biggest bull of the night, Rosser Rodeo’s Big Blue Mike, and just missed the 8-second mark with a 7.64. Cain Smith took the top spot in bulls with an 84.5. Smith of Pendleton, Ore. is no stranger to rodeo, he began riding sheep when he was just two and a half years old and is a two-time College National Finals Rodeo qualifier.
