PUEBLO, Colo. (Oct. 8, 2014) – The Professional Bull Riders, fans and staff will bring the sport of bull riding and the Western community together in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to turn the PPL Center pink on Saturday, Oct. 11 in support of breast cancer and cancer awareness.
The PBR’s Cooper Tires Take the Money and Ride event, part of the elite Built Ford Tough Series, takes place at the PPL Center on Oct. 10-11 and will highlight the fight against cancer by encouraging bull riders to compete in pink shirts on Saturday. Fans are also asked to show their support by wearing pink to the event that evening.
The week’s activities also will include PBR bull rider Brady Sims making an appearance and visiting patients at the Children’s Clinic at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
“It is an honor to align ourselves in support of such a brave fight,” Jim Haworth, Chairman and CEO of the PBR said. “Our bull riders admire and respect the fight and passion of cancer survivors and fighters. It matches what they feel in their hearts for bull riding. We want to bring awareness to this disease and support it in any way we can.”
The Cooper Tires Take the Money and Ride is stop No. 26 of 27 on the PBR’s 2014 Built Ford Tough Series. Bull riders will be competing for their share of the $140,000 total event purse and the valuable points needed to qualify for the prestigious $2.2 million PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals which takes place Oct. 22-26 at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

The bull riding action begins Friday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. and concludes Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
