EUGENE, Ore. – Three-time PBR World Champion Silvano Alves (Pilar do Sul, Brazil) went 3-for-3 to take the victory at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon, Sunday afternoon during the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) Wrangler Long Live Cowboys Classic.

Alves capped his weekend with an 85.5-point ride on Gas Pedal in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round. The win was his first BFTS event victory of the season and netted him 545 total points toward the world standings. Alves is currently 20th in the world standings.

Rookie sensation Jess Lockwood (Volborg, Montana) finished the event in second place after an 86.5-point ride on Just Juan (Dakota Rodeo) earning him 50 world points. Lockwood was bucked off later that evening in the championship round by Modified Clyde (Dakota Rodeo). Lockwood earned 290 total world points during the event and moved into fifth in the world standings.

It is the first time ever the rookie has reached to the Top 5 of the world standings, and is also the highest position he has reached in his young career. He trails current world leader Kaique Pacheco by 1709.5 points with three regular-season events remaining until the Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas Nov. 2-6.

Third place went to Rubens Barbosa (Uberlandia, Brazil) who was bucked off during Round 2 by Hillbilly Music (Viducic/B-B Bucking Bulls). He redeemed himself during the championship round when he covered Springer Mountain (Dakota Rodeo) for 82.5 points. Barbosa earned 285 total world points, putting him at 21st in the world standings.

Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) finished the event in fourth place after going 2-for-3. He rode Copper Star (Dakota Rodeo) for 87.5 points in Round 2 but was bucked off during the championship round by Jack Daniel’s After Party (Dakota Rodeo). Pacheco continues to hold steady at first place in the world standings.

Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) rounded out the Top 5 of the Wrangler Long Live Cowboys Classic by going 2-for-3. He ended his weekend with an 82.5-point ride on Can’t Get Right (New West Rodeos) during the championship round. Roy earned 180 total world points and currently sits in 27th place in the world standings.

The highest marked bull of the afternoon went to Modified Clyde (Dakota Rodeo) after earning 44 points for bucking off Lockwood in the championship round.

The Wrangler Long Live Cowboys Classic is one of the last stops on the 2016 PBR Built Ford Tough Series before the Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Nov. 2-6 at the new T-Mobile Arena. After five days of competition, the bull rider who has earned the most PBR world standings points during the 2016 season will be crowned the 2016 PBR World Champion. The winner will receive the coveted $10,000 World Championship belt buckle and a $1 million bonus.

The PBR’s next stop will be in Nampa, Idaho, Oct. 7-8 at the Ford Idaho Center.

The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network – the home of the PBR – and networks around the world. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
