Brody Yeary Records Highest Bull Ride of 2018 Season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – No bull rider has been better this season than Brody Yeary was Aug. 16.

The Brock, Texas, cowboy had a PRCA season-high, 93-point ride on Summit Pro Rodeo’s Mobster to take the lead at the Gooding (Idaho) Pro Rodeo.

The ride also was the highest scored of Yeary’s career. He joined the PRCA in October 2016.

“It was a wild ride,” said Yeary, 21. “I had never been on that bull before, but I had seen him, and he didn’t have his normal trip. He was spinning fast, and whipping and kicking hard, and he had it all together. I was just trying to get by him. It was like a blur, and when I made the whistle it felt pretty dang good. It was an adrenaline rush.”

The previous top ride of this year was 92 points, shared by J.W. Harris and Trey Benton III.

Harris’ ride came on Frontier Rodeo’s After All in Cody (Wyo.), July 4, and Benton’s trip came on Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Lumberjack in San Antonio, Texas, Feb. 25.

It has been a good week for Yeary in Gooding. On Aug. 15, he captured the title at the Division 2 Xtreme Bulls event in Gooding, with an 85.5-point ride on Korkow Rodeos’ Bad Romance. He earned $3,948 for that ride.

Yeary was 30th in the Aug. 13 PRCA | RAM World Standings with $47,845.

“This is the first time I’ve been to Gooding, and it has been a great week for me,” Yeary said. “It made it even better that it happened this time of year, and I can hopefully move up in the standings.”

The rodeo in Gooding concludes Aug. 18.
