Bushwacker Withdraws from Monster Energy Bulls on the Beach 15/15 Bucking Battle

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – PBR World Champion Stock Contractor Julio Moreno announced today that he has decided to withdraw Bushwacker from competition in the Monster Energy Bulls on the Beach 15/15 Bucking Battle. Bushwacker was to be one of the bulls challenging the Top 15 PBR bull riders on Saturday, Oct. 18 on Huntington Beach.

The two-time World Champion Bull was featured in a recent issue of Newsweek as the “Michael Jordan of Bulls” for all of his accomplishments. With a third world championship on the line, Moreno felt it was best to save his star athlete for his final performance, affording him the best opportunity possible to win a third title and make history – again.

“Bushwacker’s farewell tour has kept him very busy this year,” Moreno said. “A little rest before he has to buck at the Finals will do him good. I’d like to give him a good shot at defending his title.”

If Bushwacker wins a third world championship, he would be one of only two bulls to accomplish such a feat. The other is the famed bull Little Yellow Jacket who is memorialized in bronze outside the PBR headquarters in Pueblo, Colorado.

Jeff Robinson’s Bucking Bulls’ Percolator will replace Bushwacker in the line-up. Percolator debuted on the PBR’s elite Built Ford Tough Series at the 2013 Thackerville, Oklahoma, event. In 17 BFTS outs, he has been successfully ridden only five times.

Marlene Henry’s popular bull Mick E Mouse will replace Bushwacker as the $25,000 Bad Boy Mowers Bounty Bull. The lucky cowboy who anonymously selects Mick E Mouse will need to make the 8-second whistle aboard the 1,500 pound athlete to claim the $25,000 check. In 26 BFTS outs, Mick E Mouse has never yielded a qualified ride, bucking off bull riders, that include Silvano Alves, Guilherme Marchi, Mike Lee and four-time PRCA World Champion J.W. Harris.

The Monster Energy Bulls on the Beach 15/15 Bucking Battle is the 27th stop on the 2014 Built Ford Tough Series. The action begins at 2 p.m. and will be taped to air on CBS Television Network, the home of the PBR, at either 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. ET, following the NFL on Sunday, Oct. 19. Fans are advised to check their local listings for the time in their area.
