SALINAS, CA, August 21, 2015 – Each year the California Rodeo Association raises money and donates many local non-profit organizations, youth and rodeo related causes. These organizations help with various important aspects of the California Rodeo and other annual events held at the Salinas Sports Complex by parking cars, selling food, cleaning pens and more.

2015 has been a lucrative year so far for these groups. On Thursday August 20th, the California Rodeo Association presented checks to over fifteen entities including Monterey Bay Veterans, Inc., YWCA of Monterey County, Salinas High School Future Farmers of America, Palma High School Athletic Department, North Salinas High School Football Team, Northminster Pre-School and Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare Foundation to name a few. The total dollar amount of gifts from the California Rodeo Association to these organizations is $306,415.00 so far this year. This number includes not only the money earned by these groups for completing tasks, but also ticket donations to non-profit groups for fundraising activities, discounted rentals of facilities, tip monies collected and divided throughout the events and more. The community’s support of the California Rodeo Salinas, The Monster Jam held in May and the Central Coast Motorsports Spectacular, coming up on October 11th, results in donations to other local non-profit organizations, so what the community spends here, stays here.
