Association Presents Non-Profits with Earnings
SALINAS, CA – August 19, 2016 – On Thursday August 18th the California Rodeo Salinas presented non-profits with over $400,000, much of that total amount being money earned by staffing events held at the Salinas Sports throughout the year. Many of the groups handled important tasks during the Rodeo in July, Monster Jam in May, 4th of July event and more. These groups parked cars, sold programs, cleaned pens, sold food and performed various other tasks that help the events run smoothly.
Checks were presented to local non-profits along with youth and rodeo related causes. The grand total so far for the year is $406,581.98 and that number will continue to grow with events like the Central Coast Motorsports Spectacular coming up on October 2nd. Some of the organizations that received checks included: Monterey Bay Veterans, YWCA of Monterey County, North Salinas High School, Gil Basketball Academy, Sun Street Center, Ag Against Hunger, National Little League, Hartnell Little League and Salinas Bobby Sox Softball.
