Cravens Wins Huntington Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.V. – As one of two riders to deliver a flawless 3-for-3 performance inside Big Sandy Superstore Arena, young gun CannonCravens (Porum, Oklahoma) captured his first-ever PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) event win Saturday night, victorious at the Huntington Invitational.

After beginning the two-day event with an 85.5-point trip on Get Smoked (Phenom/JCL/Swalin/Good #1) in Round 1, the 18-year-old surged to the event lead with a Round 2-winning 86.5-point ride on Dirty Dan (TCB Ranch/K-C Bucking Bulls).

As the final man out of the chutes at the second RVT event of the season in Huntington, Cravens again led the field, covering Tractor Tippin (Barker/Barnett #2) for 88.5 points.

For his efforts, the Oklahoma-native collected a check for $6,800 and 120 world points.

As the only other rider to go 3-for-3, Fernando Novais (Pereira Barreto, Brazil) finished second to earn 70 world points and $3,500.

With a 78.5-point score aboard Handsome Jack (Rafter B Bucking Bulls) already on the board, Novais returned for the final day of the event making the 8 on Shishkabob (Gawley/Barrett Willis Bucking Stock LLC) for 83.5 points in Round 2, and capped his event with an 86-point ride on Arctic Assasin (Phenom/JCL/Swalin/Good #1).

Third went to Danilo Carlos Sobrinho (Tupa, Brazil), who rebounded from a Round 1 buckoff with two qualified rides Saturday night to earn $2,700 and 40 world points.

In Round 2 the 31-year-old went the distance on Lucky Fantasy (BMC Bucking Bulls/Jenkins Cattle Co.) for 83.5 points, before making the 8 on Speckled Chicken (Rawson/Obernagel/Daisy’s Bucking Bulls) for a career-high 88 points in the championship round.

In similar fashion, Tye Chandler (Celina, Texas) finished fourth after going 2-for-3 with his scores also coming in the event’s final two rounds.

Covering Not My Child (Phenom/JCL/Swalin/Good #1) for 84 points and Ram It (TCB Ranch/K-C Bucking Bulls) for 87 points, Chandler left Big Sandy Superstore Arena with a check for $2,000 and 20 world points.

Rounding out the Top 5 was Junio Quaresima (Meridiano, Brazil).

After tying for the Round 1 win compliments of his 87-point ride on All The Way Up (Barker/Barnett #1) Friday night, the 25-year-old added an 83.5-point score on Chicken George (CBT 5/Burruss) in Round 2 to earn his fourth Top-5 finish of the reason on the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour.

He earned $1,540 and 15 world points.

Following a two-week break, the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will next travel to Rapid City, South Dakota on Saturday, October 13 for the Rapid City Rumble. Action at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center gets underway at 7:00 p.m. MT.
