DULUTH, Georgia – In front of more than 15,000 energetic fans over the course of the two-day PBR (Professional Bull Riders) event, BrazilianClaudio Montanha Jr. (Ribeirao dos Indios, Brazil) was victorious in the Championship Round on Sunday at the 25th PBR: Unleash The Beast, Duluth Invitational winning his first buckle of the season at Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Georgia.

Montanha Jr. rode Wham Bam (Broken Arrow Bucking Bulls/6-C) for the required 8 in Round 2 to start the day, before earning the highest marks in the Championship Round with 89.50 points aboard Buck John (Broken Arrow Bucking Bulls).

With the win, Montanha Jr. earned 500 points towards the PBR world standings and moved up one spot in the standings from No 4 to No. 3. He also takes home a paycheck of $37,085.00.

With a big day on Sunday, Texan Cody Teel (Kountze, Texas) finished in second place and rose from No. 13 to No. 5 in the world standings. Teel earned 86.25 points on Charge (Broken Arrow Bucking Bulls) in Round 2. The lanky bull rider was all business in the Championship Round when he selected two-time YETI World Champion Bull, Sweet Pro’s Bruiser (D&H Cattle Co./Buck Cattle Co.). But for the second week in a row, Bruiser came out on top as he threw Teel to the ground in 6.15 seconds.

The only other rider to record a score in the championship round was Paris, Tennessee’s Cody Nance. The 30-year old put up 85 points on Church Bells (Melissa Cox/Wallgren Bull Co.) to finish third in Duluth. Opening Championship Sunday, Nance rode Buck Naked (Broken Arrow Bucking Bulls) to 79 points.
