Cody Tyler White Wins Wichita BlueDEF Velocity Tour Event

PUEBLO, Colo. – At the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) BlueDEF Velocity Tour (BDVT) event in Wichita, Kansas, last weekend, Cody Tyler White (Choctaw, Oklahoma) earned his first BDVT win of the season, giving him another chance to compete at a Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) event.

On April 25 at the INTRUST Bank Arena, White earned the high-marked ride of the night with an 86.5-point ride aboard Livin’ Free (Frihauf Cattle Co.) in Round 1. He earned 80 points towards the PBR world standings with the victory and took home $6,433.33.

In a tie for second place were Michael Lane (North Tazewell, Virginia) and Jordan Hupp (Stephenville, Texas) who each rode for 86 points during Round 1, earning 40 world points apiece along with $3,883.33.

Eric Lee (Adrian, Michigan) took fourth place off an 85.5-point ride. Lee earned 20 world standings points and took home $2,033.33. In fifth and sixth place were Riley Blankenship (Kildeer, North Dakota) and Marco Eguchi (Sao Paulo, Brazil) who earned 15 and 10 world points, respectively.

Winners of each 2015 BDVT will be guaranteed a minimum of one opportunity to compete at a BFTS regular season event in an attempt to win enough points to rank among the Top 35 and earn a spot on the elite tour. Thanks to the win in Wichita, White will compete at the Rumble in the Rockies brought to you by your local Ford Store and Sonic on May 2-3 at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The BlueDEF Velocity Tour will next compete in  Uvalde, Texas, on Friday and Saturday, May 8-9 at the Cactus Jack BDVT event that will see ridersReese Cates (Monticello, Arkansas), Matt Triplett (Columbia Falls, Montana), Markus Mariluch (Elko, Nevada) and Bonner Bolton (Odessa, Texas) as a few of the riders trying to earn those valuable world points.

On Thursday, April 23, at the 101st Clovis Rodeo, Guthrie Long (Pecos, Texas) picked up the win after covering both his bulls. In Round 1 he earned 87 points before an 87.5-point ride in the championship round to tally a total of 174.5 ride points while earning 60 world points and a paycheck of $8,936.96.

Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas) was the only other rider to score points on both his bulls as he finished in second place with a total aggregate score of 166.5. He earned 30 world points and $6,437.11.

Lachlan Richardson (Gresford, Australia) and Kolt Donaldson (Idabel, Oklahoma) finished in fourth and fifth place while Budd Williamson (Ayr, Australia) and Cody Brown (Godley, Texas) tied for sixth place.

On May 1-2, there will be two different Touring Pro Division events in as many states. On May 1-2 at Memorial Field in Bonifay, Florida, riders like Marco Eguchi (Sao Paolo, Brazil), Josh Faircloth (Randleman, North Carolina) and Eli Vastbinder (Statesville, North Carolina) are some of the riders competing.

Also on May 1-2 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the Convocation Center such well-known riders as Brant Atwood (Pampa, Texas), Luis Blanco (Icanga, Brazil) and Tyler Harr (Hazen, Arkansas) will be riders that fans can come out to see.
