Colmo del Rodeo Parade Float Workshop Coming Up

 

Prepare Your Entries for the July 16th Parade

May 13, 2016 – Salinas, CA – The California Rodeo’s Colmo del Rodeo Parade presented by Star Market will take to the streets of Old Town Salinas on July 16, 2016. Back for the 7th straight year since the Rodeo’s centennial celebration in 2010, the Colmo del Rodeo is a crowd pleaser and a great way to kick off Big Week in Salinas. The Rodeo is taking entries now and offering a free float building workshop on Tuesday May 24th from 6-8pm in the Rodeo Room at the Salinas Sports Complex at 1034 N. Main Street. Parade entries include bands, floats, equestrians, baton groups, dancers and other special groups. Information about entering can be found at www.carodeo.com/events/2016/colmo-del-rodeo-parade-2016.

The Kiddie Kapers Parade, presented by the Salinas Californian, will precede the Colmo del Rodeo Parade starting at 6:30pm that night. The theme for the 2016 Kiddie Kapers Parade is #SaddleUp. The Kiddie Kapers parade will run on Main Street from between Clay Street and Central Avenue while the Colmo del Rodeo Parade will run from West Acacia to the Steinbeck Center on Main Street. Plan to park your chairs accordingly to get the view you want for each parade.
