Davis, Kolbaba Dominate Day Two of 
Anaheim Invitational

ANAHEIM, Calif. – PBR (Professional Bull Riders) rookie Derek Kolbaba won the second 15/15 Bucking Battle of the 2016 Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) season during the Anaheim Invitational at the Honda Center in front of more than 10,000 fans Saturday night.

The 19-year-old Kolbaba notched 89.25 points on DaNutSo (D&H Cattle Co./Erwin  Cattle) to capture 150 PBR world standings points and $7,500.

The new leader in the PBR world standings, Joao Ricardo Vieira, placed second in the 15/15 Bucking Battle for 90 points toward his world standings total after making the 8-second mark on Julio Moreno’s Mr. Bull for 87 points.

Kaique Pacheco, the 2015 Rookie of the Year, finished third with 86.5 points on Cooper Tires Semper Fi (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Julie Rosen) and Cody Heffernan landed in fourth place with 85.25 points on Shepherd Hills Trapper (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve). Pacheco and Heffernan earned 75 and 60 world standings points, respectively.

The 15/15 Bucking Battle, which features the Top 15 PBR bull riders facing off with the top PBR bulls, will air on CBS Television Network at noon ET on Sunday, Jan. 31.

In Round 2 action, sophomore PBR star Cooper Davis earned 100 points toward the world standings with his 87.25-point effort atop Big Enough(Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Ken Bamhard), as he won Round 2 of the three-day event. See his winning ride.

With 86.75 points on Mr. Hobbs (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/H&C Bucking Bulls), Lachlan Richardson took second place for 60 points toward the world standings, while Cody Nance placed third with 86.25 points on Sketchy Bob (D&H Cattle Co./Flinn) for 50 world standings points.

Kasey Hayes, Kaique Pacheco and Gage Gay tied for fourth place in the round, each collecting 28.33 world standings points. Kolbaba added five more points to his world standings points total Saturday with a seventh-place finish in Round 2.

Heading into Sunday’s final rounds of the Anaheim Invitational, Wallace de Oliveira leads the aggregate, as one of just six riders to record two ride scores on the weekend. Oliveira rode Chin Music (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) for 84 points and a total aggregate score of 173.25 points. He leads Nance and Kolbaba by just .75 points. As a three-day event, the winner of the aggregate will receive 500 world standings points.

Round 3 and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round of the Anaheim Invitational take place at 1:50 p.m. PT, Sunday, Jan. 31. All of the action airs on CBS Sports Network at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday.
