Cooper Davis picked up his first Built Ford Tough round win of the 2015 season, riding Big Cool for 89 points to win Round 1 of the Seattle Invitational on Friday night.
For the round win, Davis picked up 100 points toward the PBR world standings.
Davis was followed in the round by Rubens Barbosa, who was competing in Seattle as an alternate. Barbosa finished second in the round, riding Guns & Donuts for 87.5 points, and earning 60 world standings points for the round finish.
Barbosa came into the event just 3.75 points out of the Top 30 in the PBR standings, and with the finish, climbed to No. 28 in the world standings after Round 1 action.
Valdiron de Oliveira covered Long Haired Outlaw for 86.75 points to earn a third place finish and 50 world standings points.
Oliveira was followed by Douglas Duncan and Joao Ricardo Vieira, who each earned 35 world standings points for tying for fourth place. Duncan rode Moose Jaw for 86.5 points and Joao Ricardo Vieira rode Bottle Rocket for 86.5 points.
By tying for fourth place, Joao Ricardo Vieira closed the gap in the world standings on No. 1 Matt Triplett, who isn’t competing in Seattle this weekend because of injury.
Round 2 action kicks off in Seattle at 6:50 p.m. PT.
