SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Cherokee Kid Ryan Dirteater became the first rider to win three Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) events this season when he capped a perfect 4-for-4 weekend with an 86.75-point ride on Jack Daniel’s After Party (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) to win the PFIWestern.com Invitational, presented by Bass Pro Shops, and brought to fans locally by Sonic, Sunday night at JQH Arena.

Dirteater’s ride also won him the Built Ford Tough Championship Round and netted the Hulbert, Oklahoma, bull rider 725 total world points, moving him up to seventh in the world standings. Dirteater trails current No. 1Kaique Pacheco by 1,382.83 points with six regular-season events left until the 2016 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals Nov. 2-6.

2004 World Champion Mike Lee went 2-for-4, including an 85.75-point ride on Red Moon (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/H&C) in the championship round, to finish in second place. Lee now leaves Missouri eighth in the world standings after picking up 400 world points.

Third-year rider Gage Gay also went 2-for-4 and finished third in the event. He won Round 3 with an 88.25-point ride on Flight Plan (Let’R Buck – Long Ranch) and earned a total of 280 points toward the world standings. The Staley, North Carolina, bull rider sits 18th in the world standings heading into his home state event next weekend.

Stetson Lawrence finished fourth in Springfield. Lawrence rode Buckle Up (J.A.R.S. Bucking Bulls/Gene Owen) for 73.5 points in the championship round and leaves Springfield with 205 points toward the world standings.

Pacheco (1-for-3) continued to extend his lead atop in the world standings as he closed out the Top 5 in Missouri. The 155 world points he earned increased his lead over No. 2 Cooper Davis to 80.33 points.

American Bucking Bull Inc. held a two-round Super Classic event which concluded this evening. D&H/Erwin’s Frequent Flyer had a total score of 175 for first place winning $16,580.

In second was Handsome Jeff from Rodriquez/Long with a 174.25 (174.33 actual score). Right behind him splitting third were Lock & Loaded (High View Cattle) and Organized Crime (OK Corralis/Gordon/D&H), both with total scores of 174.25 (173.17 actual score) for their two night performances.

ABBI paid out $55,260 to the 3 and 4-year-old bulls entered in the Classic. This was a crucial event for Classic bulls to secure a berth at the ABBI World Finals in Las Vegas where the winner will receive $200,000. Organized Crime maintains his regular season position at the top of the leader board after this weekend’s performance.

The PBR’s best bull riders and bovines now move on to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Charlotte Invitational, presented by Cooper Tires, Sept. 16-17 at Time Warner Cable Arena.

CBS Sports Network will broadcast Round 2 and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. ET.

PBR LIVE is available at no charge to all fans and media. Visit www.PBR.com/live to view. Fans can also watch all of the action via the PBR LIVE app, available for download now on Google Play and iTunes.

Springfield was the 20th stop on the 2016 BFTS schedule. The season will conclude at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Nov. 2-6 at Las Vegas’ new T-Mobile Arena where the 2016 PBR World Champion, the bull rider who earns the most points during the 2016 season, will be crowned and receive the coveted World Championship belt buckle and a $1 million bonus.

The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network and networks around the world. Television ratings for PBR on CBS are up more than 33 percent this season compared to last year at this time, according to Nielsen. BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
