Don’t Delay! Get Your Spooner Rodeo Tickets Today!

This year’s Spooner Rodeo, the 63rd annual, is set for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 7, 8 & 9, 2016, and promises to be the best one ever. Each performance will feature precision performers, laughs, talent, rugged pro rodeo action, and stirring patriotism and pageantry that you won’t want to miss. A special highlight this year will be the appearances by the Anheuser-Busch multi-horse hitch of Budweiser Clydesdales. These awesome animals are regarded by their owners as “the living embodiment of America’s great industrial spirit,” and they are a memorable sight to behold, as well.

On the 2016 Spooner Rodeo bill are stellar entertainers, the remarkable Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls trick riders and ropers, and the wild and crazy “Backflip” Johnny Dudley, popular rodeo clown and barrel man; plus the outstanding and beautiful Budweiser Clydesdales, and, of course, breathtaking thrills and excitement with a fine line-up of pro rodeo rookies and veterans, all skilled contestants competing in seven major pro rodeo events: women’s barrel racing, saddle and bareback bronc riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, and bull riding. All the action and excitement in the arena will be introduced, explained and enlivened by one of Spooner Rodeo’s all-time favorite announcers, the very knowledgeable, very congenial, and very popular Kelly Kenney.

To date, the world famous Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls, trick riders and trick ropers, have performed in 18 countries around the globe representing the Western American lifestyle. Each girl on the team has received a basic and thorough equine education through a program that combines physical skills and positive life skills. Riata Ranch has existed for nearly 60 years, dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through horsemanship and western performance.

A repeat performer in the Spooner Rodeo arena will be “Backflip” Johnny Dudley, who has to be seen to be believed. This zany, crazy rodeo clown will keep his audiences laughing out loud with his silly stories and side-splitting routines including an “Xplosive” limousine and a late model Dodge Duck (?)!!

After the rodeo performances, be sure to go on over to the food booth area for the rocking country music that follows. This year’s band is new to Spooner Rodeo. You will want to rock the night away to the exciting sound of Joey Gettings & Blackwater Band, fronted by Joey Gettings, the group’s singer/songwriter, from Alabama. His band mates include guitar/vocalist Kevin Rawlings and bassist/harmony vocalist Hank Rose, who are both from Kentucky; and drummer Matt Mcilwain, who, like Gettings, is from Alabama.
