Durazo Wins Portland Velocity Tour Event

PORTLAND, Ore. – Edgar Durazo (Moctezuma, Mexico) won his first event of the season at the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) Portland Classic Saturday night at the Moda Center.

Durazo took the buckle after scoring 88 points aboard Still Smokin (Kelley Bowcutt) in Round 1 and earning 88 points on Cow-ah-Bunga (Corey & Lange Pro Rodeo) in the championship round. The 26-year-old earned 120 points toward the world standings and $7,150.

Lawson Nobbs (Moura, Australia) earned second after earning 84 points in Round 1. The Australian earned 84 points on Tarzan (Kelley Bowcutt) in Round 1 before earning 88 points on Tequila (Corey & Lange Pro Rodeo) in the championship round. Nobbs earned 70 points toward the world standings and $4,550.

Third place was solidified by Kurt Shephard (Atherton, Australia) after earning 85 points aboard Bottle Rocket (Corey & Lange Pro Rodeo) before covering Chuckey (Corey & Lange Pro Rodeo) for 83 points in the championship round. Shephard will be going home with a check for $2,850 and 40 world points.

Brady Oleson (Blackfoot, Idaho) will be walking away from the weekend with a fourth-place finish after earning 82 points on Mr. Deeds Jr. (Kelley Bowcutt) in Round 1 and 83 points in Round 2 after riding Moe Betta (Corey & Lange Pro Rodeo). The 21-year-old earned $1,850 and 20 points toward the world standings.

Zac Peterson (Velva, North Dakota) rounded out the Top 5 after earning 87 points aboard Guitar Town (Howell Rodeo Company Inc.) before bucking off of Whiskey In A Bottle (Corey & Lange Pro Rodeo) in the championship round. Peterson earned 15 world points and a check for $1,740.

The next stop on the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will be in North Charleston, South Carolina, on January 20 at the North Charleston Coliseum.

The 2018 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas in 2018, leading into the PBR’s 25th Anniversary World Finals at T-Mobile Arena.
