OKLAHOMA CITY – In the last ride of the weekend, Fabiano Vieira put up 89.25 points on Red Moon (Holmes/Jackson/Flying S) in the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Built Ford Tough Championship Round to edge Mason Lowe for the victory in the Express Employment Professionals Invitational presented locally by Sonic. Lowe put together a monster 91-point ride aboard Sweet Pro’s Bruiser (D&H Cattle Co./Buck) and then had to watch Vieira’s ride to see if he would score his first career Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) victory.

Vieira and Lowe both went 4-for-4 on the weekend as the two battled for the title. With the victory, Vieira earned 595 points toward the PBR world standings after racking up 10 points in Round 1, 35 points in Round 2, 50 points in the championship round, and 500 points as the leader in the aggregate of this three-day event. He took home $34,400. To see Vieira’s ride on Red Moon click here.

Lowe finished in second place and earned 340 world standings points, taking home $17,600. Lowe’s ride on Bruiser marked the first 90-point ride of his PBR career.

“I felt really good and I thought I had it,” Lowe said. “That ride on Bruiser went great and I did everything I could to win, but I have to give credit to Fabiano.”

Former Rookie of the Year (2013) Joao Ricardo Vieira also went 4-for-4 on the weekend as he tied for third place with reigning PBR World Champion J.B. Mauney, each earning 265 world standings points on the weekend.Mauney used a 90.25-point ride aboard 2015 PBR World Champion Bull Sweet Pro’s Long John (D&H Cattle Co.) to catapult himself from eighth place into the Top 5 of the event.

Gage Gay recorded his best finish of the 2016 season to date, as he took fifth place, earning 112.5 world standings points for the finish. Robson Palermo, who had been on pace to challenge for the event title in Oklahoma City had to sit out the championship round after aggravating his lower back during Round 3. Despite missing his final ride, Palermo still finished in sixth place, tied with Mike Lee. Each rider and collected 105 world standings points.

In his first appearance of the season, 2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi finished in a respectable eighth place, going 3-for-4 for the event and earning 95 points. At the end of 2015, Marchi reported that he would sit out the 2016 season to have surgery on his right knee. He used the time between the 2015 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals and this event to strengthen his knee and decided to test it this weekend.

Carolina Panthers defensive end Jared Allen’s Lane’s Magic Train and Brutus (Boyd/Floyd) were the Salem Nationalease High-Marked bulls in Oklahoma City with scores of 45 out of 50 points each. Lane’s Magic Trane dispatched Brady Sims in 1.22 seconds while Brutus took care of Gay in 1.94 seconds, both in the championship round.

The next stop on the 2016 Built Ford Tough Series schedule will be the Anaheim Invitational at the Honda Center on Jan. 29-31. This three-day event will include a 15/15 Bucking Battle, featuring the Top 15 PBR bull riders going head-to-head with the Top 15 bulls in a special round of competition.  All of the 15/15 Bucking Battle action will air on CBS on Sunday, Jan.31 at noon ET.

CBS Sports Network will broadcast Round 2 of the Anaheim Invitational live on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 10 p.m. ET. Round 3 and the championship round will air on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can also watch all of the action live via the PBR LIVE app, available for download now on Google Play and iTunes, or online at www.pbr.com/live.
