For the Record: Circuit Finals Rodeos

Just as each regular season ends, competition heats up for cowboys aiming for the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo. Now through the end of December, each of the 12 circuits will hold their individual circuit finals – the determining factor in who will compete in Kissimmee, Fla., in April 2018.

Many of ProRodeo’s iconic cowboys have set records that could take decades to top. For instance, Mike Beers (pictured above) holds the record for most total year-end circuit titles with 30 – 12 for all-around, eight for team roping, two for tie-down roping and eight for steer roping in the Columbia River Circuit.

Bill Huber holds the record for most year-end titles in any single event with 22 won in tie-down roping. His legacy from the Great Lakes Circuit started in 1984 and continued in 1986-2002, 2004-05, 2007 and 2011.

Many familiar names in ProRodeo pop up when looking at the most year-end titles in one event:

• All-around cowboy Trevor Brazile won the Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo 14 times – 1998, 2002-04, 2006-15.

• Bareback rider Clint Corey won the Columbia River Circuit Finals Rodeo 12 years in a row, 1989-2000.
