For The Record: St. Paul

Since its start in 1936, the St. Paul (Ore.) Rodeo has grown into one of the largest rodeos of the Cowboy Christmas run and of the regular season.

Over the last 82 years, St. Paul has hosted some of the biggest names of ProRodeo – but only the best left their mark in St. Paul’s record book. Cowboys will have from July 3-7 to win their share of the prize money and possibly top one of St. Paul’s records.

St. Paul’s biggest payout was in 2017 with $352,273.

Trevor Brazile set the St. Paul record for most money won in all-around with $11,689 in 2008.

Bareback rider Tim O’Connell set the St. Paul record of 89.5 points in 2017.

Three steer wrestlers share the St. Paul record of 3.5 seconds. Mike Fuller set the record in 1986. His time was matched by Luke Branquinho in 2002 and Shawn Greenfield in 2016.

Charly Crawford and Joseph Harrison set the St. Paul record of 4.1 seconds in 2017. The two-run average record of 9.2 seconds was set by Coleman Proctor and Jake Long in 2014.

Three saddle bronc riders share the St. Paul record of 88 points. Cody Wright set the record in 2003, and he was matched by Matt Marvel in 2007 and Bradley Harter in 2011.

Tie-down roper Shane Hanchey set the St. Paul record of 7.4 seconds in 2011.

Barrel racer Callie duPerier set the St. Paul record of 16.38 seconds in 2015.

Bull rider Terry Don West set the St. Paul record of 94 points in 1996.
