For the Record: Walla Walla
With one month left in the regular season, cowboys flock to Walla Walla (Wash.) Frontier Days as they race to the finish line. Since 1955, this iconic rodeo has attracted some of the biggest names in professional rodeo, but only the best left their mark by setting a rodeo record.
Tie-down roper E.J. Roberts set two Walla Walla records in 2012. First, his 7.1-second run is the fastest to date, which helped him also to set the two-head average record of 15.7 seconds. That same year, Roberts qualified for his first RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo.
Cowboys have from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 to set a Walla Walla record and win their share of the prize money, as they seek to make the Top 15 in the PRCA | RAM World Standings and qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
