Game Notes: Anaheim

THE EVENT: 

ANAHEIM AGAIN – The Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) will continue its West Coast visit with a stop in Anaheim, California, for the 18th year this weekend. The Honda Center will host the competition on Friday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 7 at 6:50 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 8 at 2:50 p.m.

ON DECK – The PBR moves to the Midwest next weekend as the BFTS stops in St. Louis, Missouri, Feb. 13-15 for the Bass Pro Chute Out presented by Cooper Tires. The event will take place at the Scottrade Center on Friday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m.

PAST ANAHEIM EVENT WINNERS – The last four winners of the Anaheim event are all currently in the Top 10 of the PBR World Standings, including No. 2 Silvano Alves (2011), No. 6 Guilherme Marchi (2012), No. 7 Shane Proctor (2013) and No. 10 Valdiron de Oliveira (2014).

FORMAT – This weekend, the Top 35 bull riders on the BFTS will compete in Round 1 on Friday, Round 2 on Saturday, and Round 3 on Sunday, facing one bull in each round. The riders with the Top 15 scores after three rounds will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round on Sunday for an additional ride and a chance at the $30,000 event title.

POSSIBLE POINTS – There are 800 possible points available in Anaheim, as the winner of the event average will receive 400 points and each of the four round wins are worth 100 points apiece.

PROVIDING PROTECTION – The Dickies® Bullfighters this weekend are Jesse Byrne of Okotoks, Alberta; Shorty Gorham of Cotulla, Texas; and Frank Newsom of Paoli, Oklahoma.
