The BFTS returns to Nashville for the third consecutive year this weekend.

 

MUSIC CITY VISIT – The Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series bucks back into Nashville this weekend for the third year in a row and 16th overall for the Jack Daniel’s Invitational presented by Cooper Tires. The competition will take place at Bridgestone Arena beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6.

UP NEXT – The PFI Western.com Invitational presented by Bass Pro at JQH Arena is up next, as the PBR heads to Springfield, Missouri, for the fifth consecutive year. The event will take place on Friday, Sept. 12, at 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 14 at 4:50 p.m.

PAST NASHVILLE EVENT WINNERS – Defending Nashville event champion and current No. 2 bull rider in the world standings Guilherme Marchi was one of just two riders to go 3-for-3 on his bulls during the Jack Daniel’s Invitational last year. This win launched Marchi from No. 11 to No. 7 in the world standings. He remained in the Top 10 following this event for the rest of the 2013 season.

FORMAT – This weekend, the Top 35 bull riders on the BFTS will compete in Round 1 on Friday night and Round 2 on Saturday night, facing one bull in each round. The riders with the Top 15 scores after two rounds will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round on Saturday for an additional ride and a chance at the $30,000 event title.

POSSIBLE POINTS  There are a maximum of 900 possible points available during the Jack Daniel’s Invitational. The winner of each round will receive 100 points plus their ride score with a maximum of three rounds. The event winner will receive 300 points.

PROVIDING PROTECTION  The Dickies® Bullfighters this weekend are Jesse Byrne of Okotoks, Alberta; Lyndel Runyan of Sulphur, Okla.; and Frank Newsom of Paoli, Okla.

TELEVISION BROADCAST – PBR LIVE on pbr.com will broadcast the Jack Daniel’s Invitational at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 5 and at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 6.

CBS Sports Network will carry Round 2 and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. ET. The broadcast will feature Craig Hummer providing play-by-play, color commentary from two-time PBR World Champion Justin McBride, while dirt-level interviews will be handled by Leah Garcia.
