Game Notes: Sacramento

SACTOWN STOP – For the 11th consecutive year and the 12th year overall, the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) will stop in Sacramento this weekend. The Sleep Train Arena will host the BFTS competition on Friday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 31 at 6:50 p.m.

NEXT UP – The PBR will stay on the West Coast and travel to Anaheim, California, as the BFTS stops at the Honda Center, Feb. 6-8. The event will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6; 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7; and 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8.

PAST SACRAMENTO EVENT WINNERS – Fabiano Vieira won his first of three BFTS in 2014 at the Sleep Train Arena last season, as the only rider to cover all three of his bulls on the weekend. Vieira amassed 260.75 points during the Sacramento Invitational while taking home over $36,000 in earnings.

FORMAT – This weekend, the Top 35 bull riders on the BFTS will compete in Round 1 on Friday night and Round 2 on Saturday night, facing one bull in each round. The riders with the Top 15 scores after two rounds will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round on Saturday for an additional ride and a chance at the $30,000 event title.

POSSIBLE POINTS – There are 700 possible points available in Sacramento, as the winner of the event will receive 400 points and each of the three round wins are worth 100 points apiece.

PROVIDING PROTECTION – The Dickies® Bullfighters this weekend are Jesse Byrne of Okotoks, Alberta; Shorty Gorham of Cotulla, Texas; and Frank Newsom of Paoli, Oklahoma.
