Gifford Wins Velocity Tour Event in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Clayton Gifford (Lost City, Oklahoma) used an 86-point ride to take the Round 1 win in the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) event in Youngstown, Ohio, at Covelli Center on Friday night.

Gifford won the night by reaching 8 seconds aboard Sin City (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls). He won $800 for his round victory

Cody Rodeo Tyler (Guthrie, Oklahoma) rode Droopy (Rafter Z Rodeo Co.) for 85.5 points to finish in second place. Jay Miller (Liberty, South Carolina) and John Vaughan (Hamilton, Ohio) tied for third place as each covered their bulls for 85 points each. Miller rode Get Blitzed (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) while Vaughan rode Tucker (Cornwell Bucking Bulls).

Tyler earned $600 on the night, Miller and Vaughan each took home $300.

Brennon Eldred (Sulphur, Oklahoma) and Fernando Henrique Novais (Pereira Barreto, Brazil) tied for fifth place as each recorded ride scores of 84.5 points in Round 1. Eldred rode Little Buddy (Cooper Bucking Bulls) while Novais went 8 seconds atop Heat Seeker (Cornwell Bucking Bulls).

Round 2 and the championship round will take place on Saturday night beginning at 7 p.m. ET. All 40 riders will get on one more bull to begin the night with the Top 10 riders advancing to the championship round to determine the event winner.

The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s 2017 Built Ford Tough World Finals.
