Harris Wins Allentown Invitational

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – During the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) stop in Allentown, Pennsylvania, J.W. Harris won his third BFTS event of the 2015 season by going 3-for-3 at the Allentown Invitational, presented by Cooper Tires, on Saturday night inside the PPL Center.

Harris was one of two riders to go 3-for-3, including his 89.75-point effort on Redbone (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round to win the event and earn 570 points toward the PBR world standings.

The win moved Harris from No. 6 to No. 5 in the rankings with only one regular-season BFTS event remaining.  He is now only 1,605 points behind world leader J.B. Mauney.

Earning the second most event points on the weekend, 2013 PBR World Champion Mauney placed second in Allentown. He earned 340 world standing points for his finish and increased his lead in the PBR world standings to 817.5 points ahead of No. 2 Joao Ricardo Vieira.

Rookie Cooper Davis took third place in the event, winning 310 points toward his world standings total. He was also perfect for the weekend by going 3-for-3 with an 87.5-point effort on Bad To The Bone (Torres Brothers) in the championship round.

With his highest-finish to date on the BFTS, Brazilian Alexandre Cardozo landed in fourth place while fellow rookie Mason Lowe took fifth. Cardozo and Lowe received 200 world points and 165 world points, respectively.

With a bull score of 45 out of 50 points, Smooth Operator (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Julie Rosen) earned the Salem Nationalease High-marked Bull award in Allentown after tossing Shane Proctor in the 15/15 Bucking Battle on Friday night.

Round 2 and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round of the Allentown Invitational will air on CBS Sports Network on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. ET.

Allentown is the 25th stop on the 2015 Built Ford Tough Series. The season will culminate with the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Oct. 21-25 at the Thomas & Mack Center when the 2015 PBR World Champion, the bull rider who earns the most points during the 2015 season, will receive the coveted World Championship belt buckle and a $1 million bonus.
