Hedeman Primes El Paso for Annual Bull Riding Classic Worth $75,000

EL PASO, Texas (February 9, 2017) – Top ranked bull riders will return to the El Paso County Coliseum Center for one night only as four time World Champion and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer Tuff Hedeman, one of the most recognizable cowboys in the history of rodeo, fetches three World Champions to compete in the classic event that pits man vs beast.

Hedeman’s event features a two hour bull riding that has captivated and entertained local fans for twelve years. The Casa Ford Tuff Hedeman Championship Bull Riding features a field of 24 elite bull riders in a three round tournament style event ending in a final four Shoot Out round worth $30,000 to the cowboys and $45,000 to the bulls. The three round tournament style format appeals to fans as they watch the riders challenge as many as three bulls in one performance.

“The greatest thing about our event is you don’t have to be a bull riding expert to enjoy the show and have a good time,” said Hedeman.

Helping you enjoy the show will be twenty four bull riders and 50 bulls who will both competing for a total prize package of over $75,000 which includes custom made Lucchese Boots, a Hy O Silver custom engraved buckle, a custom pair of Fenoglio Boots, and a hat from American Hat Company.

In addition to great bull riding, come out early and enjoy Tuff’s special guest, El Paso’s own Mainstreet with guest DJ Primo who will be playing on site before the bull riding action begins.

“We have enjoyed an amazing partnership throughout the years with our friends in El Paso including Casa Ford and Sunland Park and we look forward every year to providing the community with a top rated bull riding competition and great fun family show with non-stop entertainment,” said Hedeman.

Hedeman returns to El Paso with his signature event and the undisputed number one bull rider in the world. Five time World Champion Sage Kimzey from Strong City, Okla., will be defending his number one ranking in the CBR World Standings as well as his World Championship, the title he earned for the second time last July. Kimzey, the twenty two year old reigning PRCA World Champion has winnings in excess of one million dollars and is the PRCA’s youngest millionaire cowboy athlete.

“Another good start to the year, usually I start slower, this year I have put in more preparation and am a lot more determined to get that good start and not be shooting behind the 8 ball, but it is bull riding and anything can happen,” said Kimzey who won the 2017 season opener in Enid, Okla., on Jan 7.

After retiring from rodeo and riding bulls in 1998, Hedeman has in recent years made a name for himself in the production of great bull riding events, including the CBR Road to Cheyenne televised tour which will make this season’s eleventh stop next week at the El Paso County Coliseum Center Arena. Tail gate party begins at 5 pm with Mainstreet band and D.J Primo who will be entertaining fans and ticketholders. Doors will open at 6:30 with the action getting underway at 8 p.m.

The 2017 Casa Ford Tuff Hedeman Championship Bull Riding tickets are on sale now and fans will be treated to a stellar field of bull riders as four World Champions are expected to ride including the Navajo Nation Champion Bull Rider and CBR event winner, eighteen year old Cody Jesus.

The four-time World Champion, and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer, Tuff Hedeman will be in town for the twelfth year heading up the high energy production and handling every detail from the bulls to the intermission entertainers of the event to assure bull riding fans enjoy the two hour adrenaline rush show.

“It’s a combination of a great rock and roll concert and a heavy weight prize fight and refereed by Tuff Hedeman,” said CBR Chief Executive Officer Benny Cude.

Individual tickets for the event start at just $15 and provide fans with multiple ticket options for individuals and families.

The list of riders and former World Champions reads like a list of Who’s Who of cowboy athletes including five- time World Champion Sage Kimzey, ERA World Champion Chandler Bownds, National Finals Rodeo qualifiers, Jacob O’Mara, Cody Rostockyj, Jeff Askey, Rorey Maier, Tim Bingham and defending champion from 2016 Mickey Andrews.
