ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Colten Jesse won his first event of the season at the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) Allentown Classic Saturday night at the PPL Center.

Jesse took the buckle after scoring 85 points aboard Rolla (Mike Miller/Torres Bros) in Round 1 and then closing out with an 86-point ride on High Rise (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in the championship round. Jesse was the only one to ride 2-for-2, earning 80 points toward the world standings and $6,250.

Winners of each RVT event in 2017 will be guaranteed at least one opportunity to compete at a PBR Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) regular-season event. Thanks to his victory in Allentown, Jesse earned an invitation to Buck Off The Island in Uniondale, New York, September 23-24.

Alex Marcilio (Macaubal, Brazil) solidified the second-place slot. He was bucked off in Round 1, but was able to earn a spot in the championship round where he covered Chin Check Charlie (Johnson Bucking Bulls & Cattle Co.) for 88 points. Marcilio is walking away from the weekend with 50 points toward the world standings and $5,150.

Third place was secured by Devon Weaver (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) who snatched 30 points toward the world standings and $3,300. The 25-year-old started the night with an 87.5-point ride in Drifter (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in Round 1 before bucking off Last One Standing (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) in the championship round.

Keyshawn Whitehorse ranked fourth after riding for 87 points in Round 1 on Backfire (Johnson Bucking Bulls & Cattle Co.) before bucking off Showdown (Rockin S Ranch / Cornwell Bucking Bulls) in the championship round. Whitehorse will be taking home a check for $2,300 and 20 points toward world standings.

Eli Miller (Statesville, North Carolina) rounded out the Top 5 after Eldred rode Splinter (Buckin’ B Cattle Company) in Round 1 before eventually bucking off Muscles & Shovels (Johnson Bucking Bulls & Cattle Co.) in the championship round. Miller earned 15 points toward the world finals and a check for $1,440.

The next stop on the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will be in Portland, Maine, for the Portland Chute Out on September 22-23 at the Cross Insurance Arena.

The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s Built Ford Tough World Finals, Nov. 1-5 at T-Mobile Arena.
