SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Following three days of non-stop action at Missouri State’s JQH Arena in Springfield, Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) collected his third PBR (Professional Bull Riders) elite series win of the 2018 season at The 25th PBR: Unleash The Beast, PFIWestern.com Invitational, presented by Bass Pro Shops.

Pacheco won the event by going 3-for-3 even before getting on his championship bull, Jack Shot (D&H Cattle Company) who bucked him off on his final ride of the weekend. Earlier in the evening he rode Pennywise(Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Staci Wilkes/ N Bar Ranch) for 88 points. In the 3-for-4 effort, the Brazilian cowboy earned 700 world points, furthering his hold on the No.1 spot in the PBR world standings, along with a paycheck of $38,776.19.

Pacheco is now more than 826 points ahead of Claudio Montanha Jr.(Pacaembu Sao Paulo, Brazil) who is in the No. 2 spot.

Luciano De Castro (Guzolandia, Brazil) finished second with a 2-for-4 performance. Bottoms Up (TNT Bucking Bulls/ Hart Cattle Co) dispatched De Castro after a mere 3.41 seconds in the championship round. In round two he conquered All the Way Up (K-C Bucking Bulls) for 87.75 points, moving from No.7 in the world standings to No. 6. De Castro earned 340 world points and $17,743.33 for his weekend efforts.

Eduardo Aparecido (Gouvelandia, Brazil), who entered the weekend at No. 10 in the world standings, secured a third-place finish after going 2-for-4 at JQH Arena. Despite being bucked off The Hard Stuff (K-C Bucking Bulls/ Bull Creek Bucking Bulls) in the championship round and Ol’ Boy (Dakota Rodeo/ Chad Berger/ Clay Struve) in Round 3, his second-place finish in Friday’s Round 1 and Saturdays special 15/15 round earned him a weekend total of 240 world points and a $11,996.19 paycheck.

Two-time world champion J.B. Mauney (Statesville, North Carolina) also went 2-for-4 over the weekend in Springfield when he was bucked off Big Black (K-C Bucking Bulls/ Joe & Nina Webb) in the championship round. Despite the fall in the final round, the veteran rider took home a fourth-place finish and moved up from No. 39 in the world standings to No. 35. Earlier in the day, Mauney covered Wiz Train (Jack and Dot Verbois/D&H Cattle Co) for 85.75 points in Round 3. He picked up 180 world points and a $8,746.19 paycheck.

Derek Kolbaba (Walla Walla, Washington) rounded out the Top 5 despite being bucked off No Prisoners (Dakota Rodeo/ Chad Berger/Clay Struve/ Heald Pro Bulls) in the championship round and Blue Stone (Dakota Rodeo/ Chad Berger/ Clay Struve) in Round 3. His Saturday night Round 2 event win earned him the points to climb the leader board. Kolbaba takes home 120 world points and $8,273.33. He leaves Springfield at No. 14 in the world standings after starting the weekend in the No. 14 spot.

The YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event was Big Black (K-C Bucking Bulls/ Joe & Nina Webb) who exploded from the chute and dispatched two-time world champion J.B. Mauney at 7.31 seconds, earning a bull score of 46.
