Kingsolver Wins Velocity Tour Birmingham Buck Off

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Skeeter Kingsolver (McLouth, Kansas) won the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) Birmingham Buck Off Saturday night at Legacy Arena.

Kingsolver­­ won the event after scoring 86.5 points aboard Red Line (Rafter Z Rodeo Co.) in Round 1, and 85.5 points on Outback Pharmacy (Big Rafter Rodeo Co. LLC) in the championship round. It was the 27-year-old’s first Velocity Tour victory since 2015, earning him 80 points toward the PBR world standings along with $7,100.

Winners of each RVT event in 2017 will be guaranteed at least one opportunity to compete at a PBR Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) regular-season event. Thanks to his victory in Birmingham, Kingsolver earned an invitation to Last Cowboy Standing at Helldorado Days, in Las Vegas, Nevada, May 12-13. It will be Kingsolver’s first trip back to the BFTS since 2015.

Another BFTS regular, Nathan Schaper (Grassy Butte, North Dakota), finished in second place, earning 50 points towards the world standings and a check for $4,800. Schaper covered Color Me Bad (Rafter Z Rodeo Co) in Round 1 for 84 points, and Ambush (Big Rafter Rodeo Co. LLC) in the championship round for 87 points.

Third place went to Ramon Rodrigues after he reached 8 seconds on Fast Talker (Davis Rodeo Ranch / Harris) for 84 points in Round 1. He followed that with an 83.5-point ride on Hot Potato (Big Rafter Rodeo Co. LLC) in the championship round. Rodrigues earned 30 points toward the world standings along with $2,800.

Zane Cook (Fort Gibson, Oklahoma) finished in fourth place, picking up 20 points toward the world standings and $2,300. Cook rode Tracker (Smith/Harper/Scott Burruss) for 85.5 points in Round 1.

Jay Miller (Liberty, South Carolina) rounded out the Top 5 after riding Thunderbird (Smith/Harper/Scott Burruss) for 85 points in Round 1. Miller will walk away from Birmingham with 15 world points and $1,440. Cody Campbell (Summerville, Oregon) rode Heavy Weight (Smith/Harper/Scott Burruss) in Round 1 and Malicious Mobster (Blake Sharp / Sharp & Langston Bull Co. LLC) in the championship round, earning him sixth place with 10 points toward the world standings and $860.

Bugle Boy (Rickey West Bucking Bulls) was the Top Bull of the event after earning a score of 43.5 points after bucking off Cook in 3.15 seconds in the championship round.

The Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will next head to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for the Milwaukee Challenge on April 8 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s Built Ford Tough World Finals, Nov. 1-5 at T-Mobile Arena.
