Lonnie West and Garret Lange Win Velocity Tour Events over the Weekend

Two different riders win RVT events over the weekend.

PUEBLO, Colo. – Garret Lange and Lonnie West each took home victories over the weekend in two separate PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) events. Lange won his first career event at the Bakersfield Buck Off Saturday night at the Rabobank Arena while West was victorious in New Town, North Dakota at the Four Bears Casino and Lodge.

Lange took the buckle after scoring 86.5 points aboard Wicked Ways in Round 1 before bucking off in the championship round. The home state competitor earned 80 points toward the world standings and $6,475.

Chase Robbins and Caludio Montanha Jr. tied for second after each earning 84 points in the short round. Robbins covered El Capitan while Montanha Jr. rode Johnny Sac, each earning 40 points toward the world standings along with $3,925.

Fourth place ended in a tie after Jorge Valdiviezo and Paulo Ferreira Lima each earned 17.50 points towards the PBR world standings and $1,645 after scoring 83 points in Round 1. Valdiviezo, in one of his first events back after shoulder surgery, covered It’s Who You Know in Round 1 while Lima rode Major Hadley.

In New Town, North Dakota, West rode 3-out-of-4 bulls during the two-day event to take the victory along with 80 points towards the PBR world standings and a paycheck of $9,009.89.

West rode Undertaker for 87.50 points, Like Mike for 85.50 points and Machinery Auctioneer’s Crazy Horse for 88 points.

Finishing in a tie for second place was Brady Oleson and Jesse Tillman. Each one also rode three of their four bulls during the two-day event to finish with 40 points each. Oleson won $8,350.63 while Tillman took home $6,537.66.

Oleson covered both his bulls on Friday with 84 points on Rebound and 86.50 points on Dennis The Menace and then picked up 89 points on Machinery Auctioneer’s Heffner during the championship round on Saturday. Tillman covered White Lightning for 87.50 points on Friday but rode two on Saturday including the highest score of the weekend, 90.50 points aboard Dennis The Menace in the championship round. He also tallied 81.50 points on Fist City.

Finishing in fourth place with 20 world points and $1,977.78 was Joseph McConnel. He rode Americana for 84.50 points on Friday and then picked up 85 points on Dove Tree on Saturday.

Derek Kolbaba, the No. 2 ranked bull rider in the world finished in fifth place after going 8 aboard Stand Up for 89.50 points on Saturday night. He earned 15 points towards the world standings along with $2,505.19.

Finishing in 6th place and earning 10 world points was Connor Murnion. He covered Redneck for 87.50 points as he took home a paycheck of $1,252.59 for his efforts.

The next stop on the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will be in Huntington, West Virginia on December 1-2 at the Sandy Superstore Arena.

The 2018 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas in 2018, leading into the PBR’s Built Ford Tough World Finals at T-Mobile Arena.
