2018 Lufkin CBR Bull Bash

LUFKIN, Texas – December 18, 2017 – CBR Lufkin Bull Bash announced today that tickets are now on sale for the 2018 Lufkin CBR Bull Bash at the George Henderson Expo on February 17 at 8 pm.

Four time World Champion Tuff Hedeman returns to Lufkin with the annual Lufkin CBR Bull Bash with 24 elite cowboy athletes in the classic event that pits man vs beast producing the two-hour bull riding that has entertained Lufkin fans for 29 years.

National Finals Rodeo round winners and super stars Sage Kimzey, Trey Benton and Crockett’s Boudreaux Campbell are familiar faces on the back of the Lufkin Bull Bash chutes. Benton, who won three rounds last week at the NFR was the 2013 Lufkin Bull Bash Champion. Kimzey and Campbell are still in the hunt for the coveted title and buckle of one of the longest running stand-alone bull ridings in the country.

There is still time to stuff the Christmas stockings with tickets as Hedeman announces the all-inclusive tickets will include musical artists and comic relief from funnyman Cody Sosebee, the 2017 National Finals Rodeo barrelman and 10 time PRCA Entertainer of the Year nominee. In between the world class riders and notorious bucking bulls, Sosebee gives the fans something to watch as he dances his way thru the building with merchandise giveaways and family friendly entertainment.

Hedeman, who has made a name for himself in the production of bull riding events, presides over the CBR’s Road to Cheyenne televised tour which features a one performance three round tournament style event worth $30,000 to the bull riding athletes. The Real Cowboy Sport’s elite 24 riders are matched against the industry’s best bucking bulls, both reaching for the $100,000 bonus check awarded at the World Finals at Cheyenne Frontier Days. The Fox Sports televised Road to Cheyenne tour travels to 16 cities and pays out over a million dollars annually in cash and prizes to the riders and the bulls.

The 2017 CBR and PRCA World Champion bull rider Sage Kimzey of Strong City, Oklahoma continues his dominance breaking the CBR title record when he won an unprecedented third CBR Championship in July. Kimzey, a four time PRCA World Champion currently holds seven bull riding World titles after winning the PRCA’s gold buckle for the fourth time on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

“There are two things Lufkin fans want to see, big rides and high scores and CBR provides both in a star studded entertaining event,” said four time World Champion and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer, Tuff Hedeman who oversees the production.

Known as The Real Cowboy Sport, CBR is dedicated to preserving and promoting the very best elements of the sport – strength, stamina, and integrity – while providing three rounds of non-stop heart pounding entertainment in an arena designed exclusively for bull riding that gives fans an up close experience during the tournament style bull riding.

The CBR event includes three human gladiators, the Famous Energy Bullfighters, who will be signing autographs and taking selfies on the concourse before they take the dirt to risk their lives each and every time the chute gate opens.

The annual CBR trip to Lufkin is center stage for the CBR Bull Team Challenge, a three bull format competition for stock contractors featuring the best bucking bulls competing for cash and prizes including stock trailers, saddles, and buckles and a check for $45,000 will be awarded to the Enid Champion. The reigning 2017 World Champion Bull Team is the Carthage, Texas partnership of Terry Williams, Justin Freeman and Colby Pepper who took home the $100,000 bonus check in July.

CBR awards over one million dollars annually to bull riders and bull team owners making it one of the richest competitions in bull riding.
