Mauney Earns Second Consecutive Victory

TULSA, Okla. – Going 3-for-3 for the second week in a row, J.B. Mauney claimed his third victory of the 2015 Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) and moved to within 167.50 points of current PBR world standings leader Joao Ricardo Vieira in the race for the 2015 PBR World Championship.

Mauney had already clinched the win before he rode DaNutso (D&H Cattle/Buck Cattle/ Erwin Cattle) for 89.75 points in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round.

The 28-year-old won the round and gave him an additional 100 points to add to his world standings total. Mauney earned a total of 630 world standings points and pocketed $40,930 with a Round 1 win, a fifth-place finish in Round 2, a championship-round victory and by placing first in the aggregate.

“I’m having fun and anytime you are having fun, you ride better,” Mauney said.  “I do it because I love the sport.  Now it’s time to forget about this weekend and move on to the next one.”

With his highest finish to date in the BFTS, Robson “Spiderman” Aragao finished second in the event, adding 350 points to his PBR world standings total. Aragao rode Lane’s Magic Train for 87.5 points for the only other ride during the 15-man championship round.

With PBR World Finals qualification on everyone’s mind, Aragao moves into the No. 19 spot with this finish.

Shane Proctor went 2-for-3 on the weekend to capture third place in the event, earning 180 world points.

Rounding out the Top 5 were Reese Cates in fourth place (115 world standings points) and Eduardo Aparecido in fifth place (105 world standings points).

Cates moves to ninth in the world standings.

SweetPro’s Long John of D&H Cattle Company captured his sixth SalemNationaLease High-Marked Bull award of the 2015 BFTS, recording 45.50 points out of 50 as he tossed three-time PBR World Champion Silvano Alves in 3.20 seconds.
