Miller, Ford Earn PBR Touring Pro Division Wins

PUEBLO, Colo. – On June 5-6 in Lima, Ohio, Jay Miller, from Liberty, South Carolina, claimed his second Touring Pro Division (TPD) event win of the season with 170.5 points overall in the aggregate at the Potash Invitational. Miller used his last ride of the night to earn the victory as he walked away with a guaranteed check for $10,000, courtesy of Bud Light.

Miller went into the championship round in sixth place with 82 points, but his 88.5-point ride launched him into first place for the win.

Thad Newell (Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma) finished in second place, just a half point behind Miller with a total of 170 points. He had an 84.5-point ride in Round 1 and 85.5 points in the championship round, taking home $3,000.77. Newell earned 30 world points and $2,731.58.

Simao da Silva (Coacatuba, Brazil) was third with 169.5 points for 20 points toward the world standings along with $1,937.20.

Luis Blanco (Sao Paolo, Brazil) and Cody Nance (Paris, Tennessee) finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively with Gage Gay (Staley, North Carolina) taking sixth. They earned 15, 10 and 5 points, respectively.

At the 10th Annual Dusty Gliko Memorial Bull Riding in Belt, Montana, on June 6, Cody Ford (Stanfield, Oregon) took home the victory for his first PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Touring Pro Division win of the year.

Ford earned the event title by going 2-for-2 with an aggregate score of 171.5 points. With the victory, he secured 60 points toward the world standings off his 84-point and an 87.5-point rides. He also took home a total of $3,904.34 in earnings.

Parker Breding (Edgar, Montana) finished in second place just half a point behind Ford. He put up 82.5 points in Round 1 before a huge 88.5-point effort in the championship round. Breding walked away with $3,000 while earning 30 world points.

Zac Peterson (Velva, North Dakota) placed third courtesy of his Round 1 85.5 points, winning $2,000 and earning 20 points towards the world standings. Taryl Smith (Litchville, North Dakota) and Dylan Madsen (Lower Brule, South Dakota) tied for fourth with their matching Round 1 ride scores of 86 points as each earned 12.5 world points and won $1,163.49. Guthrie Long (Odessa, Texas) finished in sixth place off an 83.5 point ride, earning five world points and $396.28.

The BlueDEF Velocity Tour will return this weekend with an event in Moline, Illinois, at iWireless Center on Saturday, June 13, starting at 7 p.m. Top 10 riders in the PBR world standings Matt Triplett (Columbia Falls, Montana),Valdiron de Oliveira (Palestina, Brazil) and Reese Cates (Monticello, Arkansas) highlight some of the riders competing.

The PBR’s Touring Pro Division will be in Odessa, Texas, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., for the B&B Roust-A-Bout Invitational at the Ector County Coliseum. Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas), Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Oklahoma) and Michael Lane (Tazewell, Virginia) are expected to ride.

Riders will also compete Saturday at the Cowboys Dancehall TPD in San Antonio. The bull riding action starts at 8:30 p.m.
