KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Saddle bronc rider Tyrell Smith is taking advantage of the Florida sunshine while he competes at the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee.

It is significantly warmer here than it is in his home of Sand Coulee, Montana and he is enjoying every minute of it. Especially as he is having a lot of success in the rodeo here. He placed second in the first round on Thursday. In the second-round Saturday afternoon, he scored 78 points on Korkow Rodeo’s horse named Kamikaze Winn. That was good for a sixth-place tie. The Montana Circuit Champion has already won $11,400 and has a chance to add to that significantly on Sunday.

The eight contestants with the highest total score on two head qualify for Sundays semifinals. All of their previous scores are dropped. Then the five highest scores from the semifinals advance to the finals. Each of those rounds pay $7,575 to win so Smith’s winnings here could increase significantly.

There is $1 million in cash and prizes that will be distributed at this year’s RNCFR with the bulk of that distributed on Sunday. The rodeo starts at 2:30 p.m.
