This week we wrap up our 2018 look at the Women of the PBR.

We have had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with ladies who contribute behind the scenes in a variety of ways. From wives, mothers and girlfriends, to stock contractors and broadcasters, the Women of the PBR play many important roles.

Today we chat with Maria Marchi, wife of Guilherme Marchi, about meeting Guilherme, family, and fashion.

PBR.com: Thanks for joining us today Maria, to start us off, where are you from?

Maria Marchi: I am from Tres Lagoas in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.

PBR.com: How did you first meet Guilherme?

MM: We met at Barretos. He was friends with my brother and he had even joked with him that he would be his brother-in-law someday.

PBR.com: What was your first impression of Guilherme?

MM: Oh he’s a very handsome and very charismatic guy. The more we talked and met, I could see that he was falling in love. He’s a very nice guy.

PBR.com: What was the first PBR event you attended?

MM: The first event I attended was the 2016 Finals in Las Vegas.

PBR.com: How were you introduced to the Western sports world?

MM: I come from a family of cattle ranchers. And, my brother is a sertanejo singer, so he has always been around the rodeos and the parties.

PBR.com: What do you do for fun?

MM: I have my own business in Brazil and my family there, so I’m in Brazil a lot. I also my family here and Guilherme and I have a new baby, so there’s not much time left. But in that free time, one of the things I like the most is to go to shows that my brother, Marquinho Guerra put on.

PBR.com: What has the biggest transition/difference for you in moving from Brazil?

MM: I don’t feel much difference since I still spend a lot of time in Brazil. I have my own business there, so I’m there a lot. And I come back here for family.

PBR.com: How does Guilherme support your endeavors?

MM: Guilherme is great! He is always available for anything I need. He is always telling me that is there for me. If I decide to do something, he is always ready to help with anything to make it happen.

PBR.com: What do you see trending in the fashion industry currently?

MM: I believe that today, the fashion industry does not follow many rules, it is more free. My style is very light, but basic – colorful. I rely on some different accessories and different pieces.

PBR.com: What is your favorite Jewelry accessory?

MM: I am a very basic person but what I like the most is a necklace. I like to wear more basic clothes that make a difference.

PBR.com: What is the difference between your everyday style and what you wear to an event?

MM: In my day to day, I try to ready for any occasion, from meetings to taking care of Guilherme Jr, usually with a ring and earrings. But for events, I like to dress up, maybe add a beautiful necklace and a very beautiful ring.

PBR.com: Who is your fashion icon?

MM: I believe that fashion does not have many rules and that access to information is increasing a lot. I follow several trends and various styles but I do not stick to one icon.

PBR.com: How did you select your pieces of jewelry from Montana Silversmiths?

MM: It was very difficult, all the pieces are very beautiful, very elegant. But I ended up choosing pieces that most matched me and my style.
