NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the fourth year in a row, and 17th overall, the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) will return to Nashville on Aug. 21-22 as the Bridgestone Arena hosts the Jack Daniel’s Invitational presented by Cooper Tires.
The Top 36 bull riders in the world will invade Music City as the third PBR Major of the 2015 BFTS season takes place, including an updated event format, offering increased prize money with a total purse of $170,000 and PBR world points worth 1.5 times more than at regular BFTS events. This two-day, head-to-head, bracket-style event is the only one of its kind on the 2015 BFTS schedule.
The bull riding action will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22. Tickets are on sale now and start at $10. They are available at the Bridgestone Arena box office, www.Ticketmaster.com, and by telephone at (800) 745-3000.
Among the bull riders slated to compete in the Jack Daniel’s Invitational are: Tennessee native Cody Nance, as well as defending PBR Nashville event champion Chase Outlaw, who will be returning to the BFTS after being out of competition with a dislocated right shoulder for the past six months.
Five PBR World Champions are also expected to be in the lineup in Nashville, including three-time, and reigning World Champion Silvano Alves (2011, 2012, 2014), J.B. Mauney, (2013), Renato Nunes, (2010), Guilherme Marchi (2008) and Mike Lee (2004). Fan favorites Matt Triplett, Reese Cates and Douglas Duncan will be included in the draw, as well.
The BFTS is televised every week on CBS, CBS Sports Network – the home of the PBR and networks around the world. The final rounds of the two-day competition will be broadcast on CBS Television Network on Sunday, Aug. 23 at noon ET. Fans can also catch each night of the action in real time on PBR LIVE via CarbonTV.com. PBR LIVE is now available at no charge to all fans and media.
The Jack Daniel’s Invitational presented by Cooper Tires is stop No. 21 of 27 on the 2015 BFTS. The season will conclude at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas on Oct. 21-25 when the 2015 PBR World Champion, the bull rider who earns the most points during the 2015 season, will be crowned and receive the coveted World Championship belt buckle and a $1 million bonus.
BFTS telecasts are produced for the PBR under a multi-year agreement with David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 34-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer.
