News & Notes from the Rodeo Trail, April 10

The Tri-State Rodeo is celebrating its 70th year with country stars Jon Pardi and Cody Johnson, and 90s pop-rock band Smash Mouth, according an announcement from Tri-State Rodeo Chairman Josh Denning. This year’s rodeo is set for Sept. 6-9 in Fort Madison, Iowa. More information about the Tri-State Rodeo can be found at www.tristaterodeo.org.

The Buccaneer Commission wants people to come early and stay later than just the ProRodeo and concerts happening in the American Bank Center Arena this year in Corpus Christi, Texas. Rodeo Corpus Christi, which takes place April 27-30, has plenty of things going on before the rodeo, like the Corpus Christi Caller-Times Kids Corral Interactive Zone on Resaca Street, just outside the arena. Families can enjoy a mechanical bull, a mobile learning barn, live music and food trucks, while also picking up rodeo concert dirt access wristbands. There also will be a concert each night after the rodeo and the performers consist of Dwight Yoakam (April 27), Aaron Watson (April 28), William Clark Green (April 29) and Siggno (April 30).

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
