WHEELING, W.Va. – Brady Oleson recorded the best score on Friday night in Round 1 of the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) Frontier Communications Classic in Wheeling, West Virginia, at the Wesbanco Arena.

Oleson, from Blackfoot, Idaho, rode Brain Games (J Bar W Ranch) for 86 points to take the lead in the event. He was one of 11 riders to record a qualified ride in the first night of competition.

Josh Faircloth (Randleman, North Carolina) finished in second place in Round 1 after scoring 84.5 points aboard Movin on Up (J Bar W Ranch).

Carlos Garcia (Hammondsport, New York) finished third after reaching 8 seconds on Magic Mike (Buckin’ B Cattle Co.) for 84 points. Alex Marcilio (Macaubal, Brazil) was not far behind in fourth place after he covered Uptown Funk (J Bar W Ranch) for 83.5 points.

Devon Weaver (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) rounded out the Top 5 in Round 1 after he rode Splinter (Buckin’ B Cattle Co.) for 83 points.

After Round 1, Oleson took on Stanley FatMax (Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls) in a bonus round for the chance at some extra money. The big bovine proved too much, though, as he dispatched the 21-year old.

The Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will return to Wesbanco Arena for Round 2 and the Championship Round of the Frontier Communications Classic. The action will begin at 7 p.m. ET.

The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s 2017 Built Ford Tough World Finals, Nov 1-5 at T-Mobile Arena.
