Outlaw Wins Round 2 in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – Chase Outlaw took the momentum from his split of Friday night’s Round 1 win and rolled it into a big ride that gave him the victory in Round 2 of the PBR Bass Pro Chute Out, presented by Cooper Tires, Saturday night at Scottrade Center.

Outlaw became one of four riders to cover both of their bulls so far this weekend when he covered American Sniper for 88 points. Outlaw picked up 100 world points along with $3,580. Outlaw currently sits at seventh in the world standings and heads into Championship Sunday leading the event average with 175.25 points.

Built Ford Tough Series rookie Jake Gowdy recorded his first qualified ride on the BFTS when he rode Church Bells for 87.75 points to take second place in Round 2. Gowdy earned 60 world points along with $2,750 and moved himself to 26th place in the world standings.

Another rookie got himself on the board when Cody Rodeo Tyler reached 8 seconds aboard Bullrito for 87.25 points to finish in third. Tyler’s ride was his first since his BFTS debut in Round 1 in Kansas City and gave him 50 points toward the world standings and $2,000.

Missouri native Mason Lowe stayed on a roll in his home state when he rode Booger Red for 86 points to make it a perfect 2-for-2 so far over the weekend. Lowe earned 35 points toward the world standings along with $1,075 and heads into Championship Sunday in second place in the event average.

Rookie Claudio Montanha Jr. tied with Lowe for fourth place after his own 86-point ride on Beast of Burden. Montanha earned 35 world points and $1,075 along with Lowe.

The Top 35 bullriders in the world will put it all on the line one more time when they return for Championship Sunday of the Bass Pro Chute Out, presented by Cooper Tires, Sunday afternoon.

Each rider will face one more bull in Round 3 before the Top 15 move on to the Built Ford Tough Champion Round where a winner will be crowned.

The action will start at 2:15 p.m. ET on PBR LIVE and the PBR LIVE app. Championship Sunday will also be broadcast on CBS Sports Network at 8 p.m. ET.
