Pacheco Wins First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard Invitational

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – 2015 PBR Rookie of the Year Kaique Pacheco swooped in and won the First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard Invitational with a 4-for-4 performance Sunday afternoon at the Denny Sanford Premier Center.

Pacheco capped his four-ride performance the event with an 88.25-point ride on Legal Tender in the Build Ford Tough Championship Round. The Brazilian secured 565 world points and now occupies eighth-place in the world standings.

2004 World Champion Mike Lee took three steps closer to history after his 3-for-4 performance. He finished in second place with 385 points toward the world standings. Lee finished his weekend with an 89.25-point ride aboard Wipeout to win the championship round. His three rides in South Dakota has him at 497 career rides on the Built Ford Tough Series. He is now three away from being only the second rider to collect 500 qualified rides on the BFTS.

Fabiano Vieira (3-for-4) finished in third place with 285 points toward the standings. Vieira’s performance moved him to second place in the world standings. He trails world leader J.B. Mauney by 243 points.

Gage Gay led the event for two days, but settled for fourth place and 185 points in the world standings. Gay finished 2-for-4 and leaves South Dakota the 18^th ranked bull rider in the world.

Ryan Dirteater rounded out the Top 5 and pocketed 155 points in the world standings for his effort. Dirteater went 3-for-4 and finished strong with an 87.5-point ride on Pound The Alarm in the championship round.

18-year-old Jess Lockwood won Round 3 with an 88.25-point ride on Tom Horn. Lockwood, who made his BFTS debut during the event, earned 100 points in the world standings.

The PBR will now roll into North Little Rock, Arkansas, where the Verizon Arena will host the Bad Boy Mowdown April 9-10.
