PBR Mourns the Death of David Wibirt

PUEBLO, Colo. – David Wibirt, who hauled bulls for PBR stock contractor Jeff Robinson, was killed on Sunday night in a crash on Interstate 59 in Birmingham, Alabama.

According to Al.com, Wibirt, 40, was driving his Ford F-450 northbound on the interstate when authorities say a Chevy Trail Blazer crossed the median and collided with Wibirt’s truck. The SUV flipped, and Wibirt’s truck went down an embankment.

Authorities told AL.com that witnesses attempted to help Wibirt, but he was found unresponsive in his truck and pronounced dead at 7:17 p.m.

“It is a bad deal,” Robinson said. “He was an excellent person,” Robinson said. “He was unbelievable. He was professional and always friendly. He was awesome.”

The PBR would like to offer its condolences to all of Wibirt’s family and friends.

Wibirt was hauling a 40-foot trailer with eight bulls following this weekend’s J.W. Hart PBR Challenge BlueDEF Velocity Tour event in Decatur, Texas, at the time of the accident. According to Robinson, the bulls were not injured in the accident and will be evaluated further in North Carolina later this week.

Funeral arrangements for Wibirt have not been announced yet as of Monday evening.
